January Book Giveaway

I admit it: I have a problem with books.  I buy multiple copies of ones I love and hand them out like a modern day Book Fairy.  As a way to thank you guys for holding hands with me on this journey (which I truly, truly appreciate), I want to give you some of my favorites.  On the second Tuesday of each month, I will randomly draw from my list of subscribers.  The RSS feed form is available on your computer or there is an email link at the bottom of the mobile site.  I promise not to bombard you with stuff that is not awesome and never more than twice a week.  Win the book on Tuesday and you will have it in time to enjoy for the weekend! Thank you for participating and thank you so much for your support.

I have kept journals for each one of my kids since before I knew them.  I have handwriting like a third-grader just learning cursive but I can type like a bandit so these journals are small books on my computer now.  I made the decision to keep a handwritten, personal journal a few years ago.

It has now become one of three things I would save in a house fire (assuming the safety of the children).

This is the way I use mine:

I journal my prayers.  Not every day.  But writing slowly gives me time to savor each word in a deliberate way, shows the direction of my heart and allows time for listening.  I write prayers on the right side and leave the left side blank for quotes that pierce me, insight through study, and people I am warring over in prayer.  Mine are journals riddled with doubt, insight, bravery, fear, questions, answers…and always self-discovery.

It’s my conversation with God.

And His with me.

You may use yours to explore dreams, plot flowcharts for mind-boggling algebra problems, set goals, or doodle.

If you do decide to use it to journal your thoughts and desires, it becomes a beautiful, handwritten legacy for your children.

The January Book Giveaway will be one that will be written by…you.

Everyone has a story.

This one is for you to write.

'Let your dreams be bigger than your fears and your actions be louder than your words.'
‘Let your dreams be bigger than your fears and your actions be louder than your words.’

Let's stay connected...

Kari, isn’t it…transforming?? I love it and will sometimes snap a picture and pass it along…so important to share our struggles and answers we have received with others. I bet you and God have amazing conversations.

I talked about this in my, um, talk. About how journaling slows your mind and lets you hear the juicy details God has for you. Good stuff, Mel.
